Reporting From Howard Jones Field
Here's Wednesday's post-practice video of USC head coach Steve Sarkisian's press conference with the media. With Josh Shaw being reinstated Tuesday evening, there is, needless to say, plenty of Shaw talk.
USC freshman safety John Plattenburg only has a thigh contusion after being carted off during Sunday's practice, but the Trojans' secondary is in flux after Gerald Bowman, Leon McQuay III and Su'a Cravens have all suffered recent injuries.
With starting left tackle Chad Wheeler out for the season, left guard Toa Lobendahn is taking over rather than Aundrey Walker, who played the position after Wheeler was hurt at Utah. With Lobendah at left tackle, the left guard position is open.
The USC Trojans got some key players back from injury on Wednesday. Adoree' Jackson, Hayes Pullard and Gerald Bowman look to be on track to play Saturday while Ajene Harris, George Farmer, Steven Mitchell and Soma Vainuku are still in question.
USC head coach Steve Sarkisian said he'd love to have a senior defensive back with Josh Shaw's abilities and that Shaw is doing everything he can to come back, but Sark said "there is no decision to be made on our end."
Redshirt junior wide receiver Victor Blackwell is officially no longer a member of the USC Trojans football team, according to head coach Steve Sarkisian. Unhappy with playing time, Blackwell stopped coming to practice three weeks ago.
