You can’t win them all. Four star cornerback Chris Steele announces that he will commit to the Florida Gators during the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. The St, John Bosco prospect also had offers from USC, South Carolina, Oregon, and Oklahoma. Steele was committed to USC back in June before de-committing from the Trojans in October.
Steele is ranked as the No. 5 corner in the 2019 class and No. 4 overall in the state of California according to the 247 Sports composite. USC was still in the running for the four star corner out of St. John Bosco, however Florida managed to move in and pull one of the top players in California out of state and into SEC territory.
Losing out of Steele hurts the Trojans as they look to add depth at corner. USC already has four star cornerback Max Williams and three-star cornerback Trey Davis sign back in December, but they will need another cornerback for the class of 2019 with Iman Marshall, Jonathan Lockett, Ajane Harris, Isiah Langley graduating and Je’Quari Godfrey transferring from the program.
USC is still in the running for Noa Pola-Gates, who announced that USC is in his top three. The Trojans will have to beat out Alabama and Nebraska for the No. 2 player in the state of Arizona. Their pursuit of Noa-Gates now becomes even bigger with Steele committing to Florida.
