USC 2020 quarterback commit Bryce Young and Mater Dei faced rival powerhouse Bishop Gorman in 42-0 romping.
Last season the name coming out of Mater Dei and into USC fans’ hopeful ears was JT Daniels, this season it’s Bryce Young.
Young who committed to the Trojans last month torched the Bishop Gorman Gaels during Friday night’s game which was televised on ESPNU.
The No. 1 dual-threat quarterback had deadly accuracy going 10-13 for 254 yards and four touchdowns in Mater Dei’s dominant win including this beauty reminiscent of former USC quarterback Sam Darnold.

Young also rushed for 47 yards and one touchdown, showcasing his escapability that will without a doubt help the Trojans win games for years to come.
We've got our first score of the game!

Bryce Young (@_bryce_young) scores on a long TD run thanks to some nice downfield blocking from Sean Dollars (@SeanDollars).

Besides the highlight real plays that were Friday night’s game, the thing that stood out about Young was his sheer arm strength. For a high school junior the zip he can put on the ball is extremely impressive, if you blink you will miss the throw.
Mater Dei heads into next week 1-1 (after having to forfeit last week’s win), and USC heads into a very promising quarterback room.
