USC now has another McClain coming in.
Three-star wide receiver Munir McClain has officially signed with the USC Trojans for Early Signing Day. USC announced his signing Wednesday morning. McClain is the younger brother of current Trojans linebacker Abdul-Malik McClain, who was in this very position back in February of 2018.
McClain is ranked as the No. 71 overall wide receiver in the 2019 class and No. 66 overall in the state of California per the 247Sports Composite. The 6-foot-4 receiver out of JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, CA, committed to USC back in April of 2018. He stayed firm to his commitment since April and took his official visit on the seventh of December.
We spoke with Abdul-Malik and Munir’s mother Shan McClain back in June about what the recruiting process has been like, having both of her sons being recruited around the same time. Now she will have the pleasure of seeing both of them suit up for the Trojans together.
USC will be loaded at the wide receiver position with Tyler Vaughns, Michael Pittman Jr., Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Velus Jones Jr. to name the few, and 2019 commit four-star Drake London. They’re also the favorites to land five-star wide receiver Kyle Ford and five-star athlete Bru McCoy, who will be announcing during the Army All-American Game. McClain will bring a big bodied frame which is similar to what the Trojans currently have in Pittman Jr. Something that we haven’t seen in Kliff Kingsbury’s air raid offense.
