USC defensive back position takes another hit with the recent news of another player exiting the program.
Per Chris Trevino of USCFootball.com Wednesday morning, true freshman cornerback Trey Davis will enter the NCAA transfer portal. The three star cornerback out of Federal Way, Washington enrolled to the university just last month. Davis signed with USC during the early signing period back in December after verbally committing back in May. He also had offers from Washington State and FCS programs such as Portland State and Sacramento State.
Davis was ranked No. 155 cornerback in the 2019 class according to the 247 Sports Composite. He was also ranked the No. 10 overall prospect in the state of Washington and No. 1253 overall. Davis was apart of a 2019 class that brought in eight offensive backs.
This will be the second player from USC’s 2019 recruiting class to leave the program in the last few days. Last Saturday JUCO cornerback Jayden Williams re-opened his commitment due to academic reasons. Despite the departures, the Trojans are still in good shape at cornerback with the additions of freshmen Adonis Otey, Max Williams, Briton Allen, and Chris Steele mixed in with returners like Olaijah Griffin, Greg Johnson, Isaac Taylor-Stewart, and Dominic Davis. They also have C.J. Pollard and Chase Williams who interchange at safety and cornerback.
