Will the USC Trojans keep their home win streak alive with Jack Sears at the helm?

NCAA Football: Southern California at Utah Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

The USC Trojans face another critical Pac-12 South match-up against Arizona State. While the Trojans are still second in the Pac-12 South race, another loss to follow up last week at Utah would be devastating for the moral in Troy.

With JT Daniels out with a concussion, USC turns to redshirt freshman quarterback Jack Sears who will be making his first career start. Sears who followed Darnold at San Clemente High School is a former four-star dual threat who took the Tritons to a state championship his senior year of high school.

On the defensive side of the ball, senior linebacker Cameron Smith is out with a nagging hamstring. Once again the freshman phenom Palaie Gaoteote will be starting in his place. Through the four games he has appeared in, Gaoteote has recorded 24 tackles and one sack.

With a new quarterback behind center and a USC offense that has struggled to catch fire, it looks to be up to the defense once again to put this game away.

Will Sears have the execution to lead the Trojans to an offensive victory? Or, will the uSC defense once again be the star of the show?
