The USC Trojans are aiming to continue to build up a solid base of prospects. With Heisman Trophy hopeful Kedon Slovis at QB for at least the 2021 season, head coach Clay Helton is trying to load up for life without the star quarterback.

ESPN updated its list of the Top 300 prospects who will embark on their NCAA careers in 2022, and the Trojans have three players on the list.

Coming in at No. 5 is stud five-star defensive back Domani Jackson. The Mater Dei product has a 91 grade from ESPN and should give USC a shutdown corner on the defense in 2022. Jackson committed to the program in January.

The next incoming Trojan to make the list is tight end Keyan Burnett, who comes at No. 199. Burnett is playing prep school football at Servite high school in Anaheim and should give a potent weapon to USC’s offense two seasons from now. Burnett is listed at 6’4, 210 pounds.

ESPN has the next USC recruit just two spots below Burnett. Four-star defensive back Fabian Ross comes in at No. 201. Ross is a part of the class of 2022 and will play at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas next season.

Helton is doing a good job of setting up the program for future success. The Trojans currently have the 22nd ranked 2022 recruiting class (No. 2 in the Pac-12), according to 247Sports. We are still very early in the recruiting cycle, but Helton has done well in getting early commitments from some of the best prospects in the country.

USC still has a ton of offers out to players across the country and should be able to strengthen its 2022 class in the coming months.
