USC debuts at No. 17 on the AP Top 25

But that’s the last time we’ll see them on the list this year

The USC Trojans debuted on the preseason AP Top 25 poll this week, landing as one of three Pac-12 teams to be represented on the list, and at No. 17 overall.

The Pac-12 was led by Oregon at No. 9 and rounded out by Utah at No. 22.

Despite the Pac-12 and Big Ten cancelling their fall seasons, and despite aspirations to play in the spring, the teams from each conference were considered for the preseason rankings. As were teams in the Mid-American Conference and Mountain West Conference, each who also canceled their seasons.

The Ohio State Buckeyes (who headline the Big Ten here) landed at No. 2 with their inclusion on the list while fellow Big Ten schools Penn State (No. 7), Wisconsin (No. 12), Michigan (No. 16), Minnesota (No. 19) and Iowa (No. 24) each made the list. No MAC nore MWC schools made the preseason poll.

For those who did make it and have their fall campaigns postponed until spring, this is the last time they’ll be included on the list as once games start, they’ll be removed. The Trojans and 53 other Bowl Subdivision teams will no longer qualify for inclusion in the 2020 season poll because of their postponements.

Nice to be included, sad to know this is the last time this year we’ll see our Trojan football team in the top 25.

Fight On, regardless.
