Vaughns, Carr named to Senior Bowl Top 250 list

Tyler Vaughns and Stephen Carr were each named to their respective position group’s top senior players entering the 2020 season

There may be no season this fall but for two USC Trojans, their place among the top senior players at their position has been confirmed.

Wide receiver Tyler Vaughns and running back Stephen Carr were each selected by the Reese’s Senior Bowl to represent their position groups among the top 250 seniors in the country.

Vaughns was selected among the group of receivers that includes a star-studded cast. Notable players include DeVonta Smith, Tylan Wallace, Nico Collins, Frank Darby, Warren Jackson, Dazz Newsome, Tre Nixon, Amari Rodgers, Marquez Stevenson and Kadarius Toney among many more.

Carr was selected among perhaps an even more star-studded class of senior running backs that included Najee Harris, Travis Etienne Jr., Rakeem Boyd, Kylin Hill, Trey Sermon, Trey Ragas and Elijah Mitchell, among others.

Vaughns was also named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list this offseason and for his career has 189 catches for 2,395 yards with 17 receiving touchdowns. He’s added a punt-return touchdown AND a passing touchdown in his career as well.

Carr has run for 1,153 career rushing yards on just 218 carries, securing 11 total touchdowns and done all this with only three starts.

Their place among the best seniors at their positions now confirmed, it is unknown whether or not they’ll take part in any USC football this year, if the conference does indeed move to a spring football schedule.

It is also unknown at this time whether the Senior Bowl will actually be moved to accommodate such players who would play in their spring season in the Pac-12, MAC, Mountain West or Big Ten. The game is currently scheduled to be played on Saturday, January 30, 2021.

Either way, it’s a great honor for all of those mentioned, including Vaughns and Carr! Congratulations again!

Fight On!
