It took some time. We all knew it would when he officially announced he was returning to USC.

A journey that began in Los Angeles is back in LA and ready to compete.

A former 5-star receiver and current expected star wideout for your USC Trojans, Bru McCoy gave his rendition of his journey from Mater Dei to USC to Texas back to USC. And it’s awesome.

Penned by Bleacher Report’s Mirin Fader, it’s well worth the time it takes and well worth the read overall.

From his humble beginnings to his leap of faith to go to Mater Dei, Bru opens up about everything prior to his national stage that saw him commit to USC, pledge to transfer to Texas and ultimately return to USC.

From death threats to his mother hearing that she raised a failure, it truly is eye-opening and so well worth it.

In fact, it’s so worth the read that to summarize it would just do it a disservice. So I’m not even going to attempt to do that. Just go read it for yourself.

So, to you Mirin, thank you for taking the time to write this. Thanks for giving Bru the proper time and angle to tell his story.

And Bru — man — we can’t wait to see what you got with USC. It took some time, but we’re happy that you’re with USC. We’re happy that we heard your side of the story as well.

Fight On!
