The USC Trojans Football team has been making plenty of headlines during a sportless time in all of our lives. The coronavirus pandemic has shut down live sports and turned the country into a completely virtual, safer-at-home place that has become our new norm.
Still, business must carry on and that means recruiting must persist through these challenging times. Coaches are unable to host recruits on in-person visits. Players are unable to take a look at campuses (for the most part) during official visits. Perhaps even just as important, parents of recruits are unable to see campus for themselves and get their future student-athletes on campus and in front of the coaches.
It’s become a trying time for all involved but one that has seen USC head coach Clay Helton begin to thrive. In fact, Helton and Co. have been so hot on the recruiting trail during this COVID-19 crisis that they’ve cracked into the top 10 nationally in terms of top-rated recruiting classes for the 2021 cycle.
Of course, they picked up their 10th overall commitment earlier this weekend, and second from Texas when one of the country’s top receivers pledged his services, but he’s far from the first person to commit this offseason, and certainly not the only one talking about USC.
So, I thought I’d grab all the recruiting headlines I could for Trojan news. Whether it’s commitments or rumors, or even stories from their local papers on the newest future Trojans, I’ve got ‘em right here. Take a look at some of the newest Trojans and perhaps even some newer USC players here:
