Should this come as a surprise for anyone? Former USC Trojans QB Matt Barkley’s 5-year-old son debuted a cannon for a right arm in a recent Twitter video shared by Barkley.
In what absolutely is a proud dad moment, Barkley shared the video that saw over 85,000 views in the first 24 hours it was released.
“My 5 yr old and I play catch often, but he decided to back it up and play “long toss” hit me square in the chest! Kid is a natural!” Barkley wrote on the post.
And yeah, of course he’s a natural, Matt.
This was a proud dad moment!

That’s a proud dad moment, a proud USC moment and perhaps a moment that will be etched in fame if the young Barkley indeed follows in his father’s footsteps.
Can you just see it now? The Barkley Young commits to the USC class of 2034, ESPN airs this video 100x times, he then goes on to defeat UCLA in the Rose Bowl in the fall of 2034, his freshman season.
The writing is on the wall.
We should go ahead and welcome the Young Barkley to the family.
Fight On!
