USC extends spring break, cancels classes out of concern over coronavirus

“Classes and all campus events will be canceled for the week after spring break, March 16-22 as the university monitors the impact of COVID-19 in South Carolina and makes additional plans,” officials said.

“USC kicked off its spring camp Wednesday in hopes of setting the tone for the rest of the 2020 season. While the first day had a promising start, little did players or coaches know that it would most likely be their first and last practice of camp. Less than 24 hours after the Trojans made their return to Howard Jones Field, growing concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19) caused the sports world to come to a halt.”
USC suspends spring recruiting in new Coronavirus measures
“The University of Southern California issued new Coronavirus measures on Thursday afternoon, measures that included the suspension on all on-and-off campus recruiting and recruiting related travel until further notice. USC announced that spring football was suspended indefinitely earlier in the day.”

USC Football: spring football practice suspended until further notice
“The chaos that has consumed the sports world surrounding the events stemming from the coronavirus outbreak brought an end to USC’s spring practice on Thursday. USC announced on Twitter late Thursday morning that spring football practice has been suspended until further notice.”

“The USC women’s tennis team travels up Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu, Calif. to challenge No. 13 Pepperdine on Saturday (March 14) at 12 p.m. PST at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.”

“The 10-man District IX team, voted on by the 900-plus member USBWA, was composed of players from Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawai’i, Oregon and Washington.”
USC suspends spring football practice indefinitely due to coronavirus concerns
“On Wednesday, USC held its first spring practice. The program had previously planned to make the practices open to the public, but it limited Wednesday’s attendance to players, coaches, families of student-athletes, support staff, recruits and media.”
