The Trojans handled an underwhelming Washington State team that was largely devoid of any offensive spark on Sunday night to the tune of 38-13. It was just the fifth game USC has ever played on a Sunday and the unusual situation seemed to bode well for this 3-0 squad.
Quarterback Kedon Slovis completed 25-of-32 for 287 yards and five touchdown passes. Four of those were thrown in the first quarter, all going to wideout Amon-Ra St.Brown, who finished with seven catches for 65 yards. Sophomore receiver Drake London also had a team-high 95 yards on five receptions. The Trojans didn’t need to get a whole lot of production out of their run game to win this one. Sophomore Kenan Christon led the team with just 11 yards on three carries.
Headlining the defensive effort safety Talanoa Hufanaga and cornerback Olaijah Griffin each picked off a pass from WSU quarterback Jayden de Laura.
The Trojans stayed undefeated and move to 4-0 on the season. Next week, they’ll face cross-town rival UCLA in their season finale.
