After a back-and-forth first half, the Trojans were able to capitalize on a number of turnovers by the defense to finally separate themselves from the Utes, eventually winning 33-17 in Salt Lake City on Saturday night to stay undefeated.

Kedon Slovis shook off a slow start to finish 24-of-35 for 264 yards with a pair of touchdowns and a single interception.

Vavae Malepeai led the Trojans in rushing with 65 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Sophomore Kenan Christon aslo chipped in 55 yards on just five totes. Highly-touted freshman wide receiver Bru McCoy paced the team in catches (5) and yards (66) while senior Tyler Vaughns and Erik Krommenhoek each hauled in a touchdown.

Safety Talanoa Hufanga, defensive back Chris Steele, and defensive end Drake Jackson each got a pick off of Utah’s Jake Bentley and defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu recovered a fumble to help spearhead a strong defensive effort.

USC stays undefeated and moves to 3-0 on the season while Utah goes to 0-1 after their first game of the 2020 season. The Trojans are scheduled to host Colorado after the bye on November 28.
