Life After Sam Darnold: Quarterback Situation- Probably one of the biggest storylines through College Football. What will the quarterback situation look like for the 2018 season? Sam Darnold is in New York playing for the Jets after being drafted by the team with the No. 3 overall pick, leaving USC to search for a new starting quarterback. Redshirt sophomore Matt Fink and Redshirt Freshman Jack Sears had the spring to get a jump start on the quarterback competition, however neither one did enough to impress. J.T. Daniels reclassified to enroll into USC for the 2018 season and has a good shot at winning the starting quarterback job. All eyes will be on the quarterback position at USC this season.

USC Defending The Pac-12 Championship- USC won their first conference title since 2008. While the Trojans will welcome all challengers, the conference won’t be kind to them. USC toughest games will be away from the Coliseum this season (Arizona, Utah, Stanford, and UCLA) and they’ll have to deal with an improved south division with Chip Kelly taking over at UCLA, Kevin Sumlin coaching a veteran Arizona team, and Utah expected to improve. The road back to Santa Clara will be a pretty challenging one.

Clay Helton Seat Getting Warm?- As weird as this sounds, The talk of Clay Helton and his job security will once again come up. Some USC fans believe Helton is not the guy for the job despite going 21-6 in his two season and winning the Pac-12 Conference. Many will want to see what the head coach can do with this team without Sam Darnold. An 8 win season and no conference championship with make the local talk even louder.
