One of the most successful quarterbacks in Trojan history, Sam Darnold has been drafted by the New York Jets with the third overall pick.

The USC star who lead his team to a Rose Bowl and a Pac-12 Championship in his two seasons as a starter will be competing with Teddy Bridgewater for the starting position in New York.

In his scouting report earlier in the week Darnold’s biggest strength was listed as his ability to evade pressure and make difficult throws while on the run. His instinct and awareness will be essential for a successful transition to the NFL and to be a starter in the NFC/AFC?

During his time at USC Darnold went 20-4 and accumulated a multitude of awards, including a Rose Bowl MVP, Pac 12 Championship MVP, 2017 First Team All-Pac 12, and the 2016 Archie Griffen Award.

He also broke USC’s Single Season Passing record in 2017 and broke Texas Longhorn Vince Young’s Rose Bowl touchdown record with five total.
