Already boasting the ninth-best recruiting class of 2018, USC’s successful day was completed with a commitment from fourth-ranked cornerback and 4-star recruit Isaac Stuart-Taylor over Alabama, Tennessee and Texas A&M
The 6’2” 187 lbs. defensive back from Helix(San Diego, Calif.) has all the makings of a special talent. A long and physical corner who happened to run a 4.32 40-yard dash at last year’s Nike Open. Taylor-Stuart’s aggressive nature makes him a natural playmaker as he attempts to jar the ball loose on a big hit or jumping routes on an interception. His versatility will give Clancy Pendergast options to bring him in as a nickel or extra safety in certain packages.
The past season saw USC struggle badly in the secondary with Iman Marshall and Jack Jones both having disappointing seasons. With the additions of fellow 4-star CB Chase Williams and five-star CB Olaijah Griffin, the Trojans secondary has serious potential to be one of the best in all of college football in the next two years.
