Bennie Boatwright to miss the remainder of the Season

USC Basketball team suffers a key loss to their roster.

Junior forward Bennie Boatwright will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a left patella injury during the second half of USC’s thrilling 72-70 win over Oregon Thursday night. The announcement came via USC basketball twitter account.

Boatwright is currently the Trojans second leading scorer with 13.6 points per game. This injury couldn’t come at a worse time as USC is fighting to keep their tournament hopes alive. They’re currently looking anywhere between an 11 seed to a play in appearance in Dayton, Ohio according to bracketologist. Boatwright gives the Trojans the ability to spread the floor with his ability to shoot from beyond the arc. Boatwright’s injury also hurts the Trojans depth as well. The team is already without De’Anthony Melton, who is ineligible due to the FBI/NCAA investigation and losing Boatwright will challenge the Trojans depth down the road.

USC will look to its current group to lead the Trojans to another appearance in the NCAA Tournament , but Boatwright’s presence will be missed because of what he brought to the Trojans on the court.
