USC Trojan Football: “Who Is Stephen Carr?”

Last week USC freshman running back Stephen Carr made his first career start and he did not disappoint. Carr finished the game with 20 carries, Carr rushed for 82 yards and had a rushing touchdown. He also had 47 yards receiving off 6 catches.

Some are wondering who exactly is spectacular freshman Stephen Carr? Allow of us to tell you who exactly he is.

Runningback Stephen Carr didn’t just appear out of nowhere. The freshman was a highly touted recruit out of Summit High School in Fontana, CA. According to 247 Sports Compsite, Carr was a five-star running back and was ranked third both nationally and in the state of California at the position.

Carr has been a USC commit since March of 2015 and hasn’t budged since. He signed his letter of intent On National Signing Day and from there it was on.

During summer and fall camp, Carr caught the eye of many coaches with his running ability and shiftiness. The Western Michigan game was where everyone got a chance to see what the freshman running back could do.

Carr had 69 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns, this included a spectacular 50-yard touchdown run. While Western Michigan was a game that caught some eyes, it was the Stanford game where Carr caught the eye of the whole nation. Carr gashed the Cardinal for 119 yards off 11 carries in a game where the Trojans dominated Stanford.

Through four games, Stephen Carr has been pretty impressive and effective. So far the freshman running back has rushed for 298 yards off 47 carries and nets 6.3 yards per carry.

He is second on the team behind Ronald Jones II in rushing yards. Again you ask who is Stephen Carr? He’s an impressive running back who adds an element of speed and shift to the Trojans and so far he has a bright future at USC.
