In case you missed the news from back in April, Taylor Katoa is out four the season, full article is below:

The USC Trojans already suffered a loss on their roster. Freshman linebacker Taylor Katoa will miss the 2017 season with an ACL injury per USC head coach Clay Helton. The injury occurred during Thursday’s practice and had his MRI Friday. The injury will require surgery and recovery will be up to nine months.

Katoa committed to USC over BYU and Utah as a three-star athlete and enrolled in mid-January. This is an unfortunate setback for Katoa, who was improving during spring ball. While it was unlikely that he’d start over anyone or make a major impact, his injury does hurt the linebacking corps that already lack some experience.

The Trojans will need John Houston and Jordan Iosefa to step up for the upcoming season. It could also mean incoming freshman Levi Jones could play a decent role this coming season at inside linebacker once he arrives for summer ball.
