You can always expect current/former pro players who’ve played at USC to reach out to incoming Trojans once they’re drafted. JuJu Smith-Schuster was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the NFL Draft, so It was only fitting that Smith-Schuster heard from another former Trojan/Steeler great.
According to JuJu Smith-Schuster, Troy Polamalu reached out to the former USC receiver to offer some advice. Who better to offer some advice than a former Trojan great who made a career for himself and became a household name with the Steelers? It’s not surprising that former Trojans reach out ones that are coming into the league, but for Smith-Schuster to hear from Polamalu pretty fitting considering they’ve both had special careers at USC and drafted by the Steelers.
Pittsburgh is no strangers to drafting fellow USC Trojans. The Steelers have drafted 21 players from the Trojans family which includes Pro Football Hall of Famer and current USC Athletic Director Lynn Swann and Troy Polamalu.
