Five star defensive tackle Aubrey Soloman announced that he will play for the Michigan Wolverines Wednesday morning over the USC Trojans and others. Soloman is rated as the second best defensive tackle on the 247 sports composite. The 6’3 288 pound prospect out of Lee county high school in Leesberg, GA was originally committed to Michigan until he backed away and opened his recruitment in August of 2016. Soloman had many offers but narrowed it down to USC, Michigan, Alabama, and Georgia.
The Trojans striking out on Soloman shouldn’t be the end of the world. USC still have 4 star defensive tackle Marlon Tuipilotu, who is already enrolled, and a verbal commitment from 3 star defensive tackle Brandon Pili, however landing Soloman would give USC a huge splash and more depth at an already thin defensive tackle position. Despite Soloman committing to Michigan, USC 2017 recruiting class is still shaping up well on the defensive front. They're still in the mix for Jay Tufele, who will announce later on today.
