Austin Jackson to USC: OT Recruit signs with Trojans

The five-star offensive tackle is now a Trojan.

NCAA Football: Colorado at Southern California Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Moments ago, North Canyon OT Austin Jackson committed to the USC Trojans over the Arizona State Sun Devils and Washington Huskies. Jackson is an elite 5-star tackle and held offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, UCLA Bruins, Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks, and many, many more. Jackson was widely believed to favor coming to USC and this morning he made it official.

Once a position of desperate need, Jackson’s commitment to USC gives the Trojans one of the best offensive line classes in the nation as he joins four-star offensive linemen Brett Neilon and Alijah Vera-Tucker among others who have verbally committed to USC. Jackson is a huge get for USC and his addition to the class will go a long way towards vaulting the Trojans’ 2017 recruiting into the top 5 nationally.

247 sports has Jackson as the #8 OT in the nation and the #1 prospect in the state of Arizona. With Isaiah Polo-Mao also joining the Trojans, USC has two of the best prospects from the state of Arizona. USC is thin at offensive line next year and there is a chance the 6’6” Jackson could make an immediate impact.
