Cornerback Je'Quari Godfrey has sent his letter of intent to the USC Trojans today officially making him a Trojan and improving upon what should be an elite 2017 recruiting class. Godfrey is rated as a 3-Star player (out of 5) and 247 sports ranks him as the 73rd best CB in the country. Godfrey had offers from many teams including the California Golden Bears, Colorado Buffaloes, and several more.
The 6’ 2”, 185 pound prospect is from Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland, California. Godfrey had initially verbally committed to Cal before revoking that commitment in mid January shortly after visiting USC. The Trojans also have Iman Marshall, Jack Jones, Keyshawn Young, Jonathan Lockett, and Isaiah Langley also on the roster at CB.
From: “USC found a true diamond in the rough with Je’Quari Godfrey”
“Godfrey has the physical attributes to be a starter at USC. 6’2” cornerbacks that can run a 4.4 40 yard dash are very rare commodities that usually end up playing on Sundays. It is surely no guarantee that Godfrey will tap into his huge upside, but this potential was simply too much for USC to pass up.”
