USC stays in the same spot once again.
For the third straight week, USC stays at No. 11 in the College Football Playoffs Top 25 rankings. The Trojans did not do much to warrant a climb in the rankings during their 28-23 victory over UCLA. Not to mention two teams ranked above USC in No. 9 Ohio State and No. 10 Penn State had convincing wins. It is said that the committee is impressed with how USC has played lately and that there is not much separation between USC, Ohio State, and Penn State. While that brings some light to USC’s playoff hopes, The Trojans still have a bleak light in front of them.
USC only have one win over a team in the Top 25 in No. 21 Stanford, however they’ve lost to No. 13 Washington State and were blown out by No. 8 Notre Dame. Both were on the road. USC will face a Top 25 team in the College Football Playoff in Stanford or Washington State and could enter the Pac-12 Championship game as a Top 10 team. It remains to be seen if it will be enough to lift the Trojans into the College Football Playoffs.
