USC Trojans lose another commitment

This is the second decommitment for the Trojans this week.

NCAA Football: Oregon at Southern California Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Juwan Burgess the 3-star athlete from Tampa, Florida announced on twitter early Friday morning that he was committing to the Indiana Hoosiers instead of the USC Trojans. Burgess had been verbally committed to USC but decided to head to the Big 10 instead.

Earlier in the week 3-star Safety C.J. Miller also decommited from USC. The Trojans started out the week with the 10th-ranked recruiting class in the nation according to 247 Sports and had 18 verbal commitments. USC is now down to 13th in the nation with 16 commitments.

The Trojans are still working hard to bring home several top recruits across the nation ahead of National Signing Day. If the Trojans hold on to their current 16 commitments they now have 7 scholarships still available this recruiting cycle. 5-star wide receiver Joseph Lewis, 4-star safety Isaiah Pola-Mao, and 4-star OT Austin Jackson are among the elite recruits the Trojans are aggressively pursuing.
