USC RB Ronald Jones punches the ball into the end zone, Penn State leads 49-42

The 2017 Rose Bowl has had a little bit of everything

NCAA Football: Rose Bowl Game-Penn State vs Southern California Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

In a Rose Bowl that has featured turnovers, missed field goals, 7 straight scoring drives, a 35-point second quarter, a 36-point third quarter, critical injuries and ejections the 2017 edition of the Rose Bowl has been a wild ride. Through it all though the USC Trojans have kept their composure and continued to battle despite both leading by two scores, and trailing by two scores in the game.

Down 49-35 Sam Darnold led his offense down the field on a ten play 83-yard drive that was capped off by Ronald Jones II on a 3-yard run for the touchdown. Rojo wearing number 4 in honor of Joe McKnight had been quiet along with the rest of the USC rushing attack. Penn State still led 49-42 but USC still had life. The Trojans, however, were running out of time.
