Our friends at And the Valley Shook are reporting that LSU has fired Les Miles after losing to Auburn on Saturday night. Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron was also let go. The Tigers are also reportedly turning to Ed Orgeron to take over as head coach to finish out the season.
Orgeron played a similar role for the USC Trojans when Lane Kiffin was infamously fired at the airport after a tough loss on the road. Orgeron led the Trojans to a 6-2 record during his time as the Interim head coach including a big win over Stanford (who was ranked 3rd at the time) but were soundly defeated by UCLA. Then USC Athletic Director Pat Haden opted to hire Steve Sarkisian instead of retaining Ed Orgeron. Orgeron eventually landed on the LSU staff under head coach Les Miles.
