According to our friends at Dawgs by Nature the Browns have a new QB. After quarterback injuries in their first two weeks, the Cleveland Browns will be starting rookie quarterback and USC Trojan alum Cody Kessler in week three. In the Browns opening game Robert Griffin III was injured and will miss an extended period of time. In the second game of the season Josh McCown went down with injury. Now, the Browns are down to their 3rd string quarterback, Kessler.
Kessler was selected number 93 overall by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Here is what Dawgs By Nature had to say about Kessler’s performance in the NFL Preseason:
“This preseason, Kessler lived up to his billing of being an accurate short- to intermediate-passer who doesn’t have a lot of zip on passes downfield. In fairness, he was always working with the third-string offense, so having some more playmakers will help him (the counter is that is he’s facing a first-team defense now too).”
