USC Trojans Football: Sports by Scondi - Welcome to the Spin Zone

One of the most irreverent USC blogs on the internet today, Sports by Scondi, has returned to publishing. You should check out his take on the Alabama debacle. A brief snippet is below:

“First off, I’d like to apologize to all those irrational fans out there whom I convinced into believing that USC victory was possible. Please stop sending me Venmo requests for the last second flights you purchased to Dallas or screenshots of how much you owe in your illegal, offshore gambling accounts.

Second off, I think we all need to take a moment and FUCKING CALM DOWN. I know this loss was bad. Embarrassing. Awful. One of the worst in school history. But it was one game. There is literally a whole season of football left.

Isn’t it better to get the ass kicking out of the way? What would have happened if by some miracle we won this game and then lost in a couple weeks to Stanford or Utah? I know several grown men that would break down in tears if that happened.

Consider yourself playing with house money. You no longer have lofty goals of a national championship. Now you can focus on more important things like beating UCLA or rooting against Christian McCaffery. At this point, anything good will be a pleasant surprise.

I’m not saying this team is bad (they are actually pretty good if you give them more than a 60-minute sample size against the greatest powerhouse in college football history), but if you’re going to just doom and gloom over this season hoping for the worst like you’re Scott Wolf then I don’t want to join you for any watch parties or tailgates.”
