USC Trojan Andre De Grasse and member of team Canada won the Bronze medal in the Men’s 100 Meter after finishing second place in the Semi final and 3rd place in the opening round. De Grasse’s medal winning time was 9.91 seconds. Unfortunately for De Grasse, Olympic legend Usain Bolt ran a 9.81 seconds which was good enough to take home the Gold. American Justin Gatlin took home the Silver.
Andre De Grasse is also the first male member of team Canada to win a medal in the Rio Olympics.
De Grasse already has a storied career before heading to the Olympics with a Pac-12 Championship, a pair of Gold Medals at the Pan Am Games, a third place finish in the World Championships in Athletics, and a host of Canadian records.
Congratulations to USC Trojan Andre De Grasse.
