It was a rough week for the men's basketball team. The Trojans broke their winning streak at home, losing to Utah 80-69 yesterday. Kaylin Neely has the wrap up for the site here.
Yahoo Sports credits Utah's Jakob Poetl with a large part of their win over USC, pointing out that the seven-foot Austrian started out the game strong and put his team in a good position to win the game. The LA Daily News adds that Poetl scored 29 points on the Trojans, as well as pointed out that this was USC's sixth straight loss against the Utes.
Meanwhile, the women's basketball team also struggled this week. The Trojans lost on the road to the Oregon Ducks yesterday as well. The USC team site adds that the Trojans had it down to a single basket lead at one point, coming back from 15 down, but fell behind again in the last few minutes due to fouls and free throws.
