Will the USC Trojans make the Rose Bowl? We’ll find out Sunday morning. USC will need Washington to make the Playoffs and finish ahead of Colorado in the rankings in order to make the Rose Bowl.

DATE: Sunday, Dec. 4

TIME: 9 a.m. PT

TV: ESPN

STREAM: WatchESPN

The Top 25 Selection show on ESPN starts at 9am pst. The 4 teams that are headed to the playoff will be announced around 9:30am. At roughly 9:30 we will find out if the Washington Huskies made the College Football Playoffs. If the Huskies make the top 4 then USC has a chance for the Rose Bowl. If the Huskies do not then Washington will head to the Rose Bowl and USC will likely head to the Alamo Bowl or perhaps the Cotton Bowl.

At 11:30 am pst we find out the rest of the rankings and the pairings for the the rest of the New Year’s Six Bowl games. At that time we find out if the Trojans finished ahead of the Colorado Buffaloes. If the Trojans finish ahead of Colorado AND Washington makes the playoffs then USC is headed to the Rose Bowl to likely play the Penn State Nittany Lions who won the Big 10 Championship on Saturday night.

If USC does not make the Rose Bowl or Cotton Bowl then we have to wait until 1pm-3pm pst when the Bowl Selection show airs on ESPN. The Bowl selection show will announce the rest of the Bowl Games.

ESPN is actually kicking off their coverage at 5am pst and goes all the way to 8pm the full schedule is below (all times pst):

5 a.m.-9am College Football Sunday ESPNU
9 a.m.- 1 p.m. College Football Playoff: Top 25 Selection Show - ESPN
1 p.m. - 3 p.m Championship Drive: Bowl Selection Show - ESPNU

The 3 likely scenarios that most of the experts are projecting for the USC Trojans:

USC to the Rose Bowl to (likely) play Penn State

USC to the Cotton Bowl to play the Western Michigan Broncos

USC to the Alamo Bowl to (likely) play the Oklahoma State Sooners

IF USC does not make an NY6 Bowl and the Alamo for some borderline inexplicable reason passes on taking the Trojans the Holiday Bowl will get the next pick and USC would almost certainly make their third consecutive trip to the Holiday Bowl.
