The Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, and Michigan Wolverines once again held the top 3 spots in the second playoff committee rankings. The Washington Huskies jumped into the 4th spot following the Texas A&M loss. The USC Trojans, however, jumped up into the rankings all the way to number 20 in the rankings. The Colorado Buffaloes came in at 12th, Utah Utes at 15th, and the Washington State Cougars came in at number 23.
