The USC Trjoans had to play Oregon without running backs Justin Davis and Aca’Cedric Ware. For most teams trying to play balanced offense losing two of your top 3 running backs would be a killer. Ronald Jones did not seem to mind. The Trojans were not crisp in their first few possessions in spots despite excellent field position set up by brilliant special teams play but they still had 17 points to show for it.

Fortunately Jones took the game on his shoulders and USC was able to get get points on each of their first three possessions. first possession the Trojans had to settle for a field goal after a 4 play, 18 yard drive. The second possession for USC was bit better going 7 plays for 60 yards. The final 23 yards of the drive came from Ronald Jones II who punched the ball into the end zone for the first touchdown of the game.

The Trojans defense got in on the action and quickly stifled the Ducks again. USC got great field possession once again and Ronald Jones was able to punch the football into the end zone again putting USC up 17-0.
