On Tuesday Clay Helton had USC working on red zone situations ahead of their game against Cal on Thursday night. Helton said that because Cal can score so many points field goals are not going to help USC win. In a previous interview Helton said he is thinking about 4 down territory on anything within the Cal 35 yard line so expect aggressive play calling when the Trojans are on offense. Conversely when the Bears are on offense and in the red zone the focus for the Trojans will be to create turnovers.
On the injury front USC has been incredibly fortunate. Justin Davis is doubtful for Thursday night’s game. Helton said it is really unlikely that Davis plays against Cal. On the other hand pretty much everyone else is healthy for the Trojans save for the players who are out for the season.
