USC wide receivers Juju Smith-Schuster and Steven Mitchell Jr both leave Arizona game with injuries

NCAA Football: Southern California at Arizona Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

It was an outstanding game for the USC wide receivers on the stat sheet but a tough day for injuries for two of USC’s best receivers. Earlier in the game Steven Mitchell Jr. was attempting to return a kick when his left knee appeared to buckle underneath him. Mitchell was taken out of the game early and will allegedly have an MRI on his left knee on Sunday morning. Mitchell had 1 reception for 19 yards against Arizona.

Towards the end of the 3rd quarter with USC leading 41-7 Juju Smith-Schuster went up for a pass and appeared to have injured his lower back as he crashed out of of bounds. Smith-Schuster laid still on the ground after the play and USC teammates had to help him up to the bench. The USC training staff began working on Juju’s lower back. Moments later Juju walked back to the the locker room on his own power. No word yet on Juju’s injury.
