The USC offense had been attempting to establish the deep pass against the Arizona defense for most of the game. Unfortunately Sam Darnold was unable to connect on most of those opportunities. Deep passes are one of the very few things we have yet to see from the amazing Sam Darnold.
Finally, after repeated failures to connect deep down field Darnold hit Juju Smith-Schuster for a 46 yard touchdown pass. Darnold got the ball off with enough air under it for Smith-Schuster to get under it. Juju had single coverage and the pass was a 50/50 ball which he ripped right out of the air for a touchdown.
USC 41, Arizona 7.

That's FIVE TD for Sam Darnold today. Is that good?#FightOn #BeatTheWildcats https://t.co/us6Qd1mFbo
It was Sam Darnold’s 5th touchdown of the game, and there was still 25 minutes left to play in the game.
