More coaching changes reported from around the web. CBS Sports reports that USC interim defensive coordinator for the Holiday Bowl Peter Sirmon has been hired by Mississippi State. Sirmon will serve as the defensive coordinator for Mississippi State full time. The LA Times points out that this will be a bit of a change for Sirmon and a bit of a loss for the Trojans, as Sirmon previously served as both the linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator for USC.
Meanwhile, USC gears up to play local rivals UCLA tonight at 8 pm. LA Daily News writes that the Trojans "needs a victory" over UCLA in order to prove their legitimacy. The LA Times also agrees that this will be an important match up for the two teams, writing that this time it will have meaning.
The women's basketball team will meanwhile be on a difficult road trip. The Trojans, ranked 25th nationally, will face off against Washington and Washington State this weekend.
