Pacific Takes and the LA Times write about the inspiring story of blind fan-turned-player Jake Olson, who has been a long time fan of the Trojans, and this year was able to join the team as a walk-on.

The LA Times also writes about the experienced quarterback match up between USC and Stanford, with Cody Kessler and Kevin Hogan set to face off this weekend.

Cody Kessler was named the Trojan of the Game this past weekend, and along with women's volleyball senior Samantha Bricio was also named the USC Credit Union's Student-Athlete of the week.

Sports Chat Place previewed the odds for the game this Saturday against Stanford, and Reign of Troy addressed the Week 2 improvements in the Trojan offense.

In sports medicine news of the day, a start-up run by USC faculty and students have developed a portable, quick, and reliable field concussion test, winning the $50,000 grand prize at the Maseeh Entrepreneurship Prize Competition. The start-up is called Brain Injuries Research Strategies Inc. (BIRS), and hopes to produce and distribute this device in order to help combat sports-related brain injuries.
