2016 USC Football Recruiting: 4-star running back Melquise Stovall de-commits

Melquise Stovall announced on twitter that he is reopening his recruitment and holds offers from UCLA, Notre Dame, Utah and others.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Highly touted running back Melquise Stovall announced on twitter that he is no longer committed to USC.

Here is what Nick Barbarino had to say at the time of his original commitment to USC back in April:

"Stovall is ranked as the 12th best running back in his class and No. 220 overall according to Rivals.com. As a Junior at Paraclete high school, Stovall rushed for 1,603 yards and 20 touchdowns, helping lead his team to the CIF Southern Section Mid-Valley Division championship game."

Stovall announced his commitment, also on twitter back on April 17th.

Stovall was the only running back in the 2016 class for USC. The Trojans however had several running backs sign in the 2015 class and another 4 star running back Stephen Carr who has committed to USC for the 2017 class.

According to 247 Sports, Stovall has offers from both UCLA and Notre Dame as well as other schools.
