Cody Kessler Named To ESPN Preseason Heisman Watch List

Coming off one of the greatest seasons ever for a Trojan QB, Cody Kessler has found himself ranked third on ESPN's Preseason Heisman Watch list.

The preseason hype surrounding the Trojans continues to grow as we inch closer and closer to the season opener against Arkansas State.

Just last week the Trojans were picked to dethrone the Oregon Ducks for PAC-12 supremacy. On top of that, several Trojans, including Adoree' Jackson, Cody Kessler, and Max Tuerk, have found themselves on numerous preseason watch lists.

On Thursday morning, ESPN updated their annual Preseason Heisman Watch List. Two Trojans were named to the 16 player list, senior QB Cody Kessler and sophomore do-it-all, Adoree' Jackson.

Kessler is ranked third behind Ohio State's Ezekiel Elliot and TCU's Trevone Boykin. Meanwhile, Adoree' finds himself at the bottom of the list with Mississippi State's Dak Prescott and Arizona's Scooby Wright III.

All eyes will be on Kessler as he looks to improve upon a season in which he threw for 3,826 yards, 39 touchdowns and completed 70 percent of his passes while being intercepted just five times.

The previous five Heisman winners have been quarterbacks, opening the door for Kessler to shoot up the list should he lead the Trojans to a PAC-12 title and the College Football Playoff.

Should either Kessler or Adoree' come away with the Heisman, it would be USC's first since Reggie Bush's vacated win almost a decade ago.

Only 22 days until kickoff.

Fight On!
