BURBANK- Brett Hundley is gone. A new quarterback will start for the Bruins in week one against Virginia but head coach Jim Mora says whoever it is, they will have an easier path than Brett Hundley had three years ago.
"Whoever is taking snaps from Jake (Brendel) can depend on those around them more than Brett had three years ago," Mora said.
UCLA is returning running back Paul Perkins, who rushed for 1,575 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in 2014 along with their top three receivers from a year ago.
Whether it's redshirt juniors Mike Fafaul or Jerry Neuheisel or true freshman Josh Rosen, Mora sees a lot of similarities between the trio and Hundley.
"Regardless of who the quarterback is, the offensive scheme is not going to change," Mora said.
Although he has not met with Rosen much this summer due to NCAA rules, Mora said Rosen has added 10 pounds since spring practice and is now up 215 lbs.
Mora opened his Q/A with the media by saying this regarding the quarterback situation:
"I don't know. When I know, I will let you know."
