Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick remains academically ineligible

Tight end is the thinnest position at USC and with Cope-Fitzpatrick's status uncertain, head coach Steve Sarkisian might have to try different players at the position next year.

We haven't hit the start of fall camp yet and tight end news remains the number one topic regarding USC Football. Last night, Orange County Register's Michael Lev tweeted about Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick's academic status:

USC is already extremely thin at tight end, especially after the departure of Bryce Dixon and losing Cope-Fitzpatrick would be catastrophic.

Cope-Fitzpatrick was one of the top tight ends coming out of the Class of 2011 but hasn't lived up to his full potential. Through two years at USC, the Rocklin, CA native has three catches for 16 yards. Cope-Fitzpatrick was academically ineligible in 2014.

And the countdown begins until Tyler Petite arrives on campus.
