Rasheem Green
- Defensive end/defensive tackle
- Gardena, CA (Junipero Serra HS)
- Ht: 6'5" / Wt: 280
The No. 33 overall ranked national recruit Rasheem Green went on ESPNU and chose the USC Trojans over Oregon. Green is an alumni of the famed Junipero Serra HS, which has also produced Robert Woods, Marqise Lee, George Farmer, and fellow teammate John Houston, who also chose the Trojans during the same ESPNU ceremony.
Recruited by both wide receivers coach Tee Martin and defensive line coach Chris Wilson, the No. 6 overall prospect in California has the size and strength to step into a prominent role right away, especially after the loss of Leonard Williams to the NFL. However, he still will have to compete with guys like Delvon Simmons and Greg Townsend Jr. for snaps.
Let me tell you, his tape is special. Check out Rasheem Green's highlights at Serra his senior season:
I'm definitely gonna have fun breaking him down more in-depth, but it looks like, Rasheem Green can play anywhere along the defensive line and do just about whatever is asked of him. Expect him to play 4- or 5-technique over the offensive tackle in the Trojans' base defense and then kick inside to 3-technique over the guard on passing downs. He'll be a star, if his high school tape is any indication of his future.
Green had a total of 20 sacks, 47 tackles-for-loss, and 103 tackles over his final two seasons in high school, and has been clocked at 4.8 seconds in the 40 yard dash.
At 280 pounds.
Damn.
