USC football picked up a bruising running back from the state of Texas this morning with Aca’Cedric Ware (Cedar Hill HS) signing his letter of intent to become a Trojan, the school announced Wednesday morning.

Ware, a three-star recruit, helped lead his school to their second straight Texas 5A-II State Championship. Ware ran for 2,440 yards and 34 touchdowns on an astonishing 8.4 yards per carry in 2014. During his junior season, Ware had 1,289 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.

Aca’Cedric Ware committed to USC over Iowa on July 28 of last year. Ware is ranked the No. 51 running back by ESPN and No. 29 by Rivals.

Ware benefited from a great offensive line in 2013 and 2014, but also has shown great vision when given the ball. Ware is a speedy running back, but don’t think he Aca’Cedric Ware is afraid of contact, he does a great job of pushing forward when hit by the opposing defense and has good strength for his size.

Ware and fellow Texan incoming running back Ronald Jones II are the first USC rushers from the Lonestar State since Emmanuel Moody in 2006. Moody played one season with the Trojans before transferring to Florida due to playing time.

USC lost Buck Allen in the offseason to the NFL Draft, giving the first shot as next year’s Trojan starting running back to Justin Davis. The Trojans are also will have Tre Madden back after redshirting due to injury in 2014. Ware and Jones II will have a lot of competition next year, meaning a redshirt season could be possible, but don't be surprised if one of the two busts into the rotation and grabs a few carries.
