USC Basketball: Trojans look to get back on track against the Gauchos

USC is 7-1 all-time against UCSB.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

After winning their first five games of the season including upsetting Wichita State, it looked as if this might finally be there where the Trojans Basketball team gets back to their winning ways. Well, after dropping their next two games in the AdvoCare Invitational, USC travel to Santa Barbara to face the Gauchos of UCSB. This will be the second Big West team the Trojans have played this year (they beat Cal State Northridge on November 23rd.)

Previewing the Gauchos:

UC Santa Barbara won 19 games last year, a feat they have accomplished in four of the last six years. Through the first five games of the 2015 season, the Gauchos are 2-3 and are coming off of a 70-68 heartbreaking loss to Arizona State on Sunday. One area where the Gauchos are really struggling this year has been scoring. They rank 318th out of 350 teams in scoring with 64.4 points per game and are shooting 39% from the field and 28% from the three-point line. Facing one of the highest scoring offenses in the nation, the Gauchos are going to need career nights from seniors Michael Bryson (18.8 points per game) and John Green (12.8 ppg).
