From: "Clay Helton Named USC Trojans Head Coach: Reaction"
"Since Helton has taken over the Trojans have gone 5-2, including big wins against Utah, on the road against Cal, and UCLA this past weekend. USC will be representing the Pac-12 South for the first time since 2011 when the new conference layout was started. Helton has beaten a big time rival for the first time in four years, which has crowned the Trojans as the team of Los Angeles. Helton has taken the wheel for the Trojans before, as he led the team to a bowl win after the firing of Lane kiffin and the absence of Ed Orgeron. If USC didn't hire Helton they could've possibly experienced the loss of additional recruits, support of players, and a great leader."
