Five-star linebacker Osa Masina selected the USC bucket hat on Friday, formally announcing his commitment to the USC Trojans in front of family, friends and reporters at Brighton High School's winter assembly.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, Masina is considered the 35th-best prospect in the country by the 247Sports Composite and one of the most athletic linebackers in the country. USC now has eight players in the Scout Top-100, the most of any school in the Pac-12, and 13 four-star prospects on the board.
Masina expressed plenty of Trojan love this morning at this announcement when the linebacker picked the Trojan cap over Arizona State and UCLA.

The Trojans now have four scholarships remaining (20 of 24 in total) to potentially secure the big-four targets of Iman Marshall, Rasheem Green, John Houston Jr, and Porter Gustin, a good personal friend of Masina's, in the 2015 recruiting class. In the meantime, plenty of current, former and upcoming Trojans were excited over this most recent commitment.

With the talent coming back and a potential top 5 recruiting class, a playoff birth should be a real expectation for the Trojans next season
